Rebranding the Church
by
Karen Pansler Lam, J.D.
It is outrageous there was more outcry among Christians when Cracker Barrel's CEO rebranded the restaurant than when Evangelical CEOs rebranded the church! Was there a massive outcry when Communist Wokist Rick Warren commanded everything sacred and traditional erased to modernize the church? There was more outcry when Cracker Barrel removed "Old County Store" from its sign than when the Evangelical Church removed the old-time religion service and replaced it with modern entertainment to draw in younger customers. Evangelical CEOs erased sacred hymns and spiritual songs, shifted from a traditional church sign to a contemporary theme with a minimalist logo, replaced church architecture with contemporary secular architecture, replaced church pews with updated seating, installed special effect lighting, and other destructive acts to erase Christian heritage and culture. And was there a massive outcry when corrupt church CEOs commanded us to make the church more inclusive by welcoming into church fellowship and membership unrepentant sinners: fornicators, adulterers, homosexuals, and all sinners? Evangelical churches have been woke before we started using the word "woke." For years, denominational and church CEOs commanded the church must attract and retain a wider audience. You might say, "Church leaders are not CEOs because the church is not a business." Then you don't understand the modern apostate church that tries to build a customer base like a business. Many years ago, a "pastor" once told his congregation: "If you're in the hospital, don't expect me to come. I'm the CEO and busy. I'll send someone else." And he got a CEO's salary! And was there an outcry when Evangelical CEOs commanded churches to rebrand their church by changing their names in order to appeal to more "customers"? Now they are named: The Journey, The Gathering, Ignited, and other names that exclude the word "church." Of course, the new names are more accurate since they are aren't true churches. Yes, it's outrageous there was more outcry when Cracker Barrel erased the brand's Southern heritage and nostalgia than when the Evangelical Church erased its Christian heritage and authenticity
