Reverend Terrell Raburn

Board Chair, Southeastern University of the Assemblies of God

Superintendent, Peninsular Florida District Council of the Assemblies of God
General Presbyter, General Council of the Assemblies of God

Dear Reverend Raburn:

I am led by the Lord to contact you about my seeking the presidency of Southeastern University.  And like Moses, I asked the Lord, “Who am I?”

Indeed I have a long history with the School. As you know, my father worked at Southeastern for over twenty years.  Moreover, I graduated from SEC with two degrees: a bachelor’s degree in history secondary education and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.

Furthermore, I have a bachelor’s degree in communications from Evangel College, another Assemblies of God school.

Also, I have a master’s degree in Library, Media, and Information Studies from the University of South Florida.

Additionally, I have a juris doctorate from Regent University. I practiced law for a few years but left the legal profession and returned to education.

Certainly my academic background shows my strong belief in Christian education. Above all, four of my degrees are from Christian colleges/universities; specifically, three are from Assemblies of God schools.

And I have over twenty years work experience in education – public and private.  My experience includes working with youth of all ages, including high school/college students (dual enrollment).

More important, law school trained me to interpret the highest law – God’s Law. “Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good” (Romans 7:12). As a very young girl, I was called by God to preach the Word.  Hence, my Christian Web site Liberty Advocate at

Unquestionably, Assemblies of God schools must offer what no other schools offer: a true Pentecostal education.  In other words, AG schools must educate the heart, the soul, and the mind. Students must receive an academic and religious education that will instruct them to obey the first and great New Testament commandment: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment” (Matthew 22:37). In other words, Southeastern must be a school of discipleship: teaching the mind, heart and soul.  We must give them sound teaching according to the Word of God.  To put it another way, we must teach holiness: “Let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God” (II Corinthians 7:1).

And Christian youth desire to feel a moving of the Holy Spirit and Southeastern must satisfy this longing.  A young female SEU student told me recently: “It’s not spiritual anymore.  I’ve heard stories of the way it used to be years ago, and that’s what I want to experience. Oh, how I wish I could have been here then.”  She is hungering and thirsting after the moving of the Holy Spirit.  But the School has quenched the Spirit.

We must rekindle the Pentecostal fire in our schools.  Specifically, we must rekindle the Pentecostal fire at Southeastern.  Pentecostal people must be a holy people!

This is a great turning point in the history of Southeastern University.

The new Southeastern president must have a true heart for youth, a true heart for the School, and a true heart for America.  The Spirit must be revived and the School must be purified and empowered by the fire of Pentecost. We must once again assemble together and “wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.  For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. . .But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you” (Acts 1: 4, 5, 8).

Southeastern students must not empower themselves.

Southeastern students must receive the power of the Holy Spirit!

Southeastern students are the future of America.  Our great nation is now facing many enemies: socialism/globalism/New World Order, religious humanism, polytheism, narcissism, and many other dangerous doctrines.  Our youth must know the Truth and be empowered by the Holy Spirit to speak the Truth with boldness.  “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness” (Acts 4:31).

And we must teach our Christian youth to hold fast to this nation or it will be wrested away from us and given to infidels.  (See “Stand Your Ground” @ America’s Christian heritage is being despised and forgotten.  We must stand our ground for Christian America.

Needless to say, it is with great hesitation that I step forward and write you about the presidency.  “Who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14).

Now is the time to seek the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Serving our Lord Jesus Christ,

Karen Pansler-Lam, J.D.

My academic experience includes over twenty years working with youth in public and private schools, including Christian education. Ages range from kindergarten to high school/college students (dual enrollment).  And my experience also includes working with juvenile felons.

Unfortunately, my career with the School Board of Polk County, Florida, ended in 2005 when I was terminated for exposing the history teacher at the Polk County Juvenile Boot Camp who was covertly recruiting juvenile felons for the Neo-Confederates, a domestic terrorist group. The following messages tell the story:

“Religious Rebels: Divine Inspiration or Grand Delusion?”

“Corrupt Public Officials in the Hands of an Angry God”

I was an attorney for several years practicing various areas of law: medical malpractice, personal injury, bankruptcy, commercial litigation, and criminal prosecution. My last job before returning to education was an assistant state attorney for the Office of the State Attorney in Bartow, Florida.

2)  Reply to Mr. Raburn

September 3, 2010

Mr. Terry Raburn

Board Chair, Southeastern University of the Assemblies of God

Superintendent, Peninsular Florida District Council of the Assemblies of God

General Presbyter, General Council of the Assemblies of God

Mr. Raburn:

The truth is you lied to me.  You wrote:

Ms Pansler, you do not fill the essential requirements of the Presidential Profile in that you have never served in a full time faculty or college administrative position. Therefore, you will not be forwarded as a candidate to the Search Committee.

So, I asked a fair question:

Have all the other candidates that the Search Committee considered served in a full time faculty or college administrative position?

To my knowledge, Mark Rutland never served in a full time faculty or college administrative position before becoming president of SEU.

Again, have all the other candidates that the Search Committee considered served in a full time faculty or college administrative position?

And you wrote:

The only candidate you will be compared to is yourself.

Mr. Raburn, this is the answer of a fool.  A wise man would not have answered my last e-mail or asked another committee member to answer. But fools speak when they should be silent.  “Excellent speech becometh not a fool” (Proverbs 17:7).

The truth is you lied to me. The Presidential Profile  @ states:

As with most searches, the president of Southeastern University could come from a variety of backgrounds.

The next president of Southeastern University may be working in executive leadership in an institution of higher education that has experienced solid and strong growth over the past few years.  Experience as a dean, vice-president, or president of a university is preferable but not required.

This person may be currently working in another ministry or not-for-profit organization where growth relative to dollars raised and lives impacted is at the core of the ministry.

On the other hand, someone from the private sector, military or government service could bring fresh ideas and best practices to Southeastern University that might currently be missing from the organization.

We would not want to categorically exclude anyone because he/she has not spent his/her career in higher education or vocational ministry.  The president is seen as the organizational leader and is not required to be a theologian or an ordained clergy.

To repeat, you lied to me. And “Lying lips are abomination to the Lord” (Proverbs 12:22).

The truth is you hate me because in January 2008 I openly disputed you about the modern liberal Assemblies of God in “A Church Divided” @ :

I want to share with you my correspondence with Terry Raburn, Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Peninsular Florida District Council.  Last month, I wrote Raburn about the current trend of Victory Church and other Assemblies of God churches: entertaining and worldly worship to please man, not sacred worship to please God. Unquestionably, the once conservative evangelical denomination has embraced a liberal theory of Scriptural evolutionBiblical relativists, like Raburn, treat questions of true worship and false worship as relative to individual values and cultural diversity…The truth is, my dear friend, denominational leaders such as Raburn impose their opinions and views on us by mandating pastors to compel churchgoers into a submission to their authority in spite of the lack of Scriptural authority for their false vision.  And, if pastors don’t embrace this false vision, they will not be favored or promoted by denominational leaders…

Mr. Raburn, you hate me - and lie to me – because I speak the truth.  “He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool” (Proverbs 10:18).

The truth is the Assemblies of God has quenched the Spirit.  And your e-mail is evidence:  the Holy Spirit would have never led you to lie to me.  That is why I address you as “Mr.” instead of “Rev.”; a man of the clergy who lies is not worthy of the respectful title of reverend.

Mr. Raburn, you lied to me and lying lips are an abomination to the Lord: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death” (Rev. 21:8).

My prayer is that you will repent and be purified and sanctified by the Holy Spirit:

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow…

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Serving our Lord Jesus Christ and Savior,

Karen Pansler-Lam
