Seek the Lord Today
by
Karen Pansler-Lam, J.D.
O what billows of sorrow flood my soul! Tragically, my beloved nephew committed suicide. We spent many happy hours together when he was young. O those precious memories! But he was not a Christian. He lost his faith in God many years ago. I encouraged him to seek the Truth, but, alas, he did not! Now, I have no hope of seeing him in Glory! I loved him dearly, but God’s Law clearly states that only overcomers, or saints, shall walk the streets of gold (1 Corinthians 6:9-11; Colossians 3: 5-10; Revelation 21:7,8,27). O my beloved nephew! O that you would have sought the Lord and I could look forward to our heavenly reunion! O how this pains my grieving heart! And, sadly, in times like these, professing Christians are of no comfort. One elderly “Christian” couple showed emotional sympathy but offered me NO spiritual words of comfort. God’s Word was never offered to comfort my grieving soul. Instead, they urged me to attend a local support group for those who have lost loved ones. Incidentally, they attend a Rick Warren (apostate) church. Listen, dear friend, especially in times like these, the secular world can offer me nothing to comfort my aching heart. My reply to these “Christians” was my balm is listening to hymns on CDs. Another professing Christian told me not to be sad because God wants us to be happy. These “Christians” are pathetic comforters. But this is not the purpose of this letter. The purpose of this letter is to ask you… Dear friend, where is your eternal destination – heaven or hell? Have you repented and overcome sin? O hear the Word of the Lord… As
many as I love, I
rebuke and chasten: be
zealous therefore, and
repent. Behold,
I stand at the door, and knock: if
any man hear my voice, and
open the door, I
will come in to him, and
will sup with him, and
he with me. To
him that overcometh will
I grant to sit with me in my throne, even
as I also overcame, and
am set down with my Father in his throne. Revelation 3:19-21 Dear friend, are you living for Christ daily? Have you overcome sin or has sin overcome you?
He
that overcometh shall inherit all things; and
I will be his God, and
he shall be my son. But
the fearful, and
unbelieving, and
the abominable, and
murderers, and
whoremongers, and
sorcerers, and
idolaters, and
all liars, shall
have their part in the lake which
burneth with fire and brimstone: Which
is the second death. Revelation 21:7,8 Is your heart right with God? If not, seek the Lord today.
