Sinners in the Sanctuary: Changing the Church of God into the Synagogue of Satan
by Karen
Pansler-Lam, J.D.
Modern
man-made theology argues the church must change and we must be “change
agents.” We must welcome
sinners into the holy sanctuary. And
we must make them feel comfortable.
This is a devilish scheme from the pit of hell to destroy the church from within. The Bible clearly teaches the church is for the saints, not sinners.
The
church is a holy sanctuary for a holy people to
offer holy worship to a holy God.
The church is a sanctuary from the sinful world. And it is a place of prayer and worship in the beauty of holiness unto a holy God.
But modern pastors driven by ego and greed endanger their flocks by welcoming devilish influences into the church family – the sheepfold. These false shepherds are driven by lust for large congregations and large tithes and offerings; they invite wolves into the sheepfold. They endanger the sheep, including the lambs - young children and new converts.
Do you really want pedophiles in the congregation sitting next to your children and grandchildren?
Do
you really want lewd men in church lusting after your daughters and
granddaughters,
Do
you really want evil men and women speaking seducing lies to tempt us to backslide into sin?
A
Little Leaven Leaveneth the Whole Lump
In
1 Corinthians chapter 5, the Apostle Paul makes it very clear that the
church is not for sinners:
1
It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such
fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should
have his father’s wife.
2
And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done
this deed might be taken away from among you.
3
For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged
already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this
deed,
4
In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and
my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
5
To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that
the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
Paul
chastises the church at Corinth for tolerating fornicators in the
congregation: “And ye are
puffed up, and have not rather mourned…”
And Paul explains he has judged the fornicator according to God’s Law and found him guilty, therefore, he must be cast out of the church and encouraged to repent. This is true compassion. To make the sinner fully understand his offense toward God and the body of Christ, he must be cast out of the church until he has demonstrated true repentance.
But
like the modern church, the church in Corinth gloried in their toleration
and “compassion.” Of
course, refusing to urge the wicked to repent is false compassion.
It’s cowardice. And
it’s being ashamed of the commands of a holy God.
It’s denying the Truth that God demands true faith – obedience.
It’s being ashamed of the Gospel.
Paul
continues…
6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
We
are to keep the body of Christ pure.
A little poison poisons the whole lump.
In verse 9, Paul reminds them: “I wrote unto you in epistle not to company with fornicators.”
And…
10
Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the
covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go
out of the world.
11
But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is
called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer,
or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
A
fornicator is not a brother in Christ.
An
idolater is not a brother in Christ.
A
drunkard is not a brother in Christ.
A
sinner is not a brother in Christ.
12
For what have I to do to judge them also that are without?
do not ye judge them that are within?
13
But them that are without God judgeth.
Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
Paul admonishes us to put away from ourselves wicked persons. This is righteous judgment – judgment according to God’s Law. We can’t do anything about those outside the church, but it is our God-given duty to cleanse the house of the Lord of sinners because they are not part of the family of God. Sinners are not brethren.
Jesus said...
My
mother and my brethren are these which hear
the word of God,
Clearly,
Jesus says only those who obey the Truth are brothers and sisters in
Christ. Faith that results in
obedience is evidence of a true believer.
False believers profess, “I believe” but disobey the
Truth…they falsely profess they cling to the old rugged cross, yet cling
to their old sins. They are
liars. They are hypocrites.
Even if they attend church regularly, hear every sermon, sing every
song, give tithes and offerings, work in community soup kitchens, give
clothes to the homeless and other humanitarian good works…they are still
sinners.
The
Apostle Paul explains that churchgoers are not justified:
For
not the hearers of the law are just before God,
They
profess that they know God;
In other words, we can sit year after year in church and listen to sermon after sermon, but if we’re disobeying God’s Law of holiness and living in sin…we’re lost sinners doomed to eternal damnation. A neighbor told me he reminds his children frequently that church attendance does not make them Christians: “Sitting in church no more makes you a Christian than sitting in a garage makes you a car.” But we falsely preach and teach that once the “unchurched” – sinners – become “churched” then they’re saved: the good deed of attending church counts as righteousness.
But
Jesus warns us that good deeds will not whitewash our sins:
Not
every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall
enter into the kingdom of heaven;
Many
will say to me in that day,
Good works will not whitewash our sins. Only the cleansing power of the blood of Jesus will purify our souls and make us fit for the Kingdom of heaven. Only those who obey the Truth will enter the gates of heaven and spend eternity with a holy God. We must be made free from sin and have our "fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life” (Romans 6:22). We must be sanctified.
But the disobedient will suffer eternal damnation because they are not part of the family of God. They are carnally minded. And Paul tells us: “the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God” (Romans 8:7,8).
The carnal mind hates God and rebels against the law of God. The carnal mind is unsanctified.
And the sanctuary is for the sanctified. Only the sanctified are one. Only the sanctified are brethren. Only the sanctified are the sons of God.
For
both he that sanctifieth and they
who are sanctified are all of one:
Just
as we do not invite the wicked into our inner circle of friends nor invite them
into our home, we dare not invite them into our church
home. This is a wicked scheme to hoodwink us into becoming
“change agents” – changing the Church of God into the Synagogue of
Satan…allowing the profane and unholy and unclean to kick the saints out
of the sanctuary.
Protecting
the Sheep from the Children of the Devil
At
Christmastime, a church had an unwed couple and their bastard son portray
Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus! The holy family portrayed by an unholy
couple and their unsanctified baby! This
is an abomination!
Another
couple has openly lived in sin for many years and has illegitimate
children. Yet, they regularly
attend a church that welcomes them with open arms.
Alas, the church has made them feel so comfortable in their sin,
they feel no conviction to marry and sanctify their family. So…what
message does this send to young folks in this church?
The message: fornication
is not a sin.
Parents
are cautious about who they allow their children to associate with because
they want to protect them from corrupting influences.
But then they take them to a “progressive” church among defiant
sinners who openly flaunt their sins and despise God and His Law of
holiness.
No,
friend, this should not be so!
This
is not Biblical!
Listen…if
we welcome sinners into the body of Christ, and they harm the children, we
are to blame because we failed to protect them from evil.
Jesus loves children…
And
whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me,
And we must protect ourselves from wolves: those who desire to tempt us to backslide into sin.
We must protect all in the sheepfold from the devilish influence of sinners.
He
that committeth sin is of the devil;
For
this purpose the Son of God was manifested,
Whosoever
is born of God doth not commit sin;
and
he cannot sin,
In
this the children of God are manifest,
We
must protect the sheep from children of the devil.
Sinners
and Saints Cannot Be One
Besides
the corrupting influence of sinners on the sheep, there
is no reason for sinners to be in church. The church is a house of prayer
and worship where true Christians offer holy praise to a holy God. And
sinners cannot offer holy worship to God because
they are unholy; they live in sin and openly rebel against God's Law.
Their unholy and false offerings are an abomination to the Lord
because they do not worship God in spirit and in truth:
“God is a Spirit: and they that
worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth”
(John 4:24).
So, there is no true unity of worship among sinners and saints.
Sinners
and saints are not in one accord.
Fulfil
ye my joy, that
ye be
like-minded,
On
the day of Pentecost, “they were all with one accord in one place”
(Acts 2:1).
True
believers are of one heart and of one soul.
Sinners and saints are not like-minded.
Sinners and saints do not have the same love.
Sinners
and saints are not of one accord.
Sinners and saints are not of one mind.
Sinners and saints are not of one heart.
We
are called to glorify God with one mind and one mouth (Romans 15:6).
But sinners despise God and His law, and do not glorify Him.
Sinners glorify Satan and revel in lawlessness - rebellion against
God's Law.
Jesus
calls us to be one. But only
the sanctified are one. The saints are sanctified or set apart by
faith and obedience unto holiness.
Sinners and saints cannot be one.
Saints
are children of the Kingdom of God.
Sinners
are children of the Kingdom of Satan.
Sinners
are children of the devil.
Saints follow the Light of the world. Sinners follow the Prince of Darkness.
Saints
glorify God.
Sinners
glorify Satan.
Saints
and sinners can never be in one accord.
Saints
and sinners can never have true unity.
Christians
follow Christ. Sinners follow Satan.
Christians and sinners walk in opposite directions.
Christians
walk in holiness.
Sinners
walk in wickedness.
Christians heed the Voice of God. Sinners heed the voice of Satan.
The
church is to preach repentance toward God, and faith in Jesus Christ. And true faith will bear forth the fruits of repentance:
sanctification unto holiness.
For
God hath not called us unto uncleanness,
The church is the congregation of holy brethren. And the unholy are not our brethren…they are wicked men who despise God’s Law of sanctification unto holiness. They shake their fists at God and despise His Law – the Holy Bible.
The
church is the congregation of the saints.
And Paul admonishes the churches of the saints to be in unity:
“be perfectly joined together in the same mind and the same judgment”…
Now
I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
For
God is not the author of confusion,
but of peace,
Listen, when we bring in sinners and conform the church to their carnal desires to make them feel comfortable in their sin - “radical Christianity” – we bring in corruption. This is rebellion against the Word of God. Nowhere does the Bible ever tell us to bring sinners into the sanctuary for fellowship.
In fact,
Paul warns the
Corinthians not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers:
Be
ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers:
What
fellowship does righteousness have with unrighteousness?
What
communion does light have with darkness?
What
do believer
Wherefore
come from among them,
And
will be a Father unto you,
saith
the Lord Almighty.
Be
ye separate!
But
“radical Christians” – false Christians – like Rick Warren, Joel
Osteen and other false preachers pollute the churches of the saints in
order to be popular; and advance politically and religiously correct
devilish agendas that declare: “Be
ye unequally yoked!”
These modern Pharisees preach another Jesus and another gospel. They don’t preach the Gospel of Christ. They preach the gospel of man: church diversity and inclusion – sinners and saints in an unholy union. The gospel of man is psychobabble, a religion based on feelings and emotions, not Biblical knowledge and understanding. Psychobabble is founded on emotion and ignorance.
Paul teaches that we must love in knowledge and in all judgment, not in ignorance and emotion.
And
this I pray,
Man-made
theology teaches we must welcome sinners into the holy sanctuary.
But
God’s Law commands: “Be
ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers.”
Evangelism:
The Great Commission
Jesus and His disciples never brought sinners into the church. They went out into the world and preached the message of repentance. Mark 6:12 records that the twelve “went out, and preached that men should repent.”
And neither Jesus nor His disciples ever commanded us to bring the world into the church hoping they might get saved.
On
the contrary, Jesus commands us…
Notice, Jesus does not say bring the world into the church. He tells us to “go into all the world.” But we have become lazy and indifferent. We refuse to obey God’s command of evangelism.
The purpose of evangelism is to go out into the world and win souls to Christ...then bring them into the church for discipleship.
The church is for instruction in righteousness – the perfection of the saints.
And
the church is for the fellowship of the saints.
Instead of bringing unholy people into the sanctuary, we must go out into the world and preach the Gospel.
We must revive personal evangelism.
We must revive evangelistic crusades.
Remember the evangelists holding tent meetings traveling from town to town preaching the gospel message of repentance? I have only seen one tent crusade in the past ten years.
There is a great need for evangelists! Evangelists are traveling preachers spreading the gospel message of repentance and sending saved souls into the sheepfold – the local churches.
And each of us must share the gospel message of repentance and sanctification with our family and friends and everywhere we go. We are all called to go into the world and preach the Gospel. Today, Jesus is calling us to go into the world and preach the Gospel…
Go…hold evangelistic crusades in your church, including child evangelism.
Go…hand out Gospel tracts.
Go…witness door to door in groups.
Go…start an evangelistic website calling sinners to repentance and obedience to God's Law of holiness.
Go...wear evangelistic T-shirts.
Go...publicly display the Nativity outside your church and home and business every Christmas.
Go…travel as an evangelist.
Go…start a true church.
Go…
Go into all the world.
But we refuse to go. Instead, we say "come." We open the church doors and say, "O come, all ye sinners! Come and we will welcome you with open arms as brethren. We will not judge you. We will not preach to you the gospel message of repentance and holiness. Come and we will conform our message and service to your carnal desires. O come, all ye sinners! Come!"
And
so we sit in church and demand the sinners come to us instead of going out
into the harvest field.
Pray
ye therefore the Lord of the harvest,
Will you go into the world and gather in the harvest?
Will you evangelize and win souls to Christ?
To sit back and demand sinners to come to you is not evangelism…it’s laziness. And it's rebellion against God's commission to go into the world and preach the Gospel.
Sinners should only be welcomed into the church during evangelistic crusades or for a temporary time. However, their permanent unholy presence corrupts the body of Christ and endangers the sheep.
The Synagogue of Satan
Beware, dear Christians.
Beware of welcoming wolves into the sheepfold.
We endanger the sheep and the lambs…
Do
you really want pedophiles in the congregation sitting
next to your children and grandchildren?
Do
you really want lewd men in church lusting after your daughters and
granddaughters,
Do you really want evil men and women speaking seducing lies to tempt us to backslide into sin?
When
we bring in sinners and conform the church to their carnal desires to make
them feel comfortable in their sin - “radical Christianity” – we
bring in corruption. It is
sacrilege to bring sinners into a holy sanctuary consecrated to a holy
God.
Be
ye separate!
But “radical Christians” – false Christians – like Rick Warren, Joel Osteen and other false preachers pollute the churches of the saints in order to be popular, and advance politically and religiously correct agendas.
These modern Pharisees preach another Jesus and another gospel. They don’t preach the Gospel of Christ. They preach the gospel of man: church diversity and inclusion – sinners and saints in an unholy union.
These devil's disciples preach we must change the Church of God into the Synagogue of Satan. And we are puffed up and pride ourselves on being “change agents.”
We refuse to defend the holiness of the sanctuary.
We must repent and not be unequally yoked with sinners.
Be ye separate!

2. Matthew Henry's commentary on 2 Corinthians 6: 14-18... II. The caution or exhortation itself, not to mingle with unbelievers, not to be unequally yoked with them, v. 14. Either, 1. In stated relations. It is wrong for good people to join in affinity with the wicked and profane; these will draw different ways, and that will be galling and grievous. Those relations that are our choice must be chosen by rule; and it is good for those who are themselves the children of God to join with those who are so likewise; for there is more danger that the bad will damage the good than hope that the good will benefit the bad. 2. In common conversation. We should not yoke ourselves in friendship and acquaintance with wicked men and unbelievers. Though we cannot wholly avoid seeing, and hearing, and being with such, yet we should never choose them for our bosom-friends. 3. Much less should we join in religious communion with them; we must not join with them in their idolatrous services, nor concur with them in their false worship, nor any abominations; we must not confound together the table of the Lord and the table of devils, the house of God and the house of Rimmon. The apostle gives several good reasons against this corrupt mixture. (1.) It is a very great absurdity, v. 14, 15. It is an unequal yoking of things together that will not agree together; as bad as for the Jews to have ploughed with an ox and an ass or to have sown divers sorts of grain intermixed. What an absurdity is it to think of joining righteousness and unrighteousness, or mingling light and darkness, fire and water, together! Believers are, and should be, righteous; but unbelievers are unrighteous. Believers are made light in the Lord, but unbelievers are in darkness; and what comfortable communion can these have together? Christ and Belial are contrary one to the other; they have opposite interests and designs, so that it is impossible there should be any concord or agreement between them. It is absurd, therefore, to think of enlisting under both; and, if the believer has part with an infidel, he does what in him lies to bring Christ and Belial together. (2.) It is a dishonour to the Christian’s profession (v. 16); for Christians are by profession, and should be in reality, the temples of the living God—dedicated to, and employed for, the service of God, who has promised to reside in them, to dwell and walk in them, to stand in a special relation to them, and take a special care of them, that he will be their God and they shall be his people. Now there can be no agreement between the temple of God and idols. Idols are rivals with God for his honour, and God is a jealous God, and will not give his glory to another. (3.) There is a great deal of danger in communicating with unbelievers and idolators, danger of being defiled and of being rejected; therefore the exhortation is (v. 17) to come out from among them, and keep at a due distance, to be separate, as one would avoid the society of those who have the leprosy or the plague, for fear of taking infection, and not to touch the unclean thing, lest we be defiled. Who can touch pitch, and not be defiled by it? We must take care not to defile ourselves by converse with those who defile themselves with sin; so is the will of God, as we ever hope to be received, and not rejected, by him. (4.) It is base ingratitude to God for all the favours he has bestowed upon believers and promised to them, v. 18. God has promised to be a Father to them, and that they shall be his sons and his daughters; and is there a greater honour or happiness than this? How ungrateful a thing then must it be if those who have this dignity and felicity should degrade and debase themselves by mingling with unbelievers! Do we thus requite the Lord, O foolish and unwise? http://www.blueletterbible.org/commentaries/comm_view.cfm?AuthorID=4&contentID=1757&commInfo=5&topic=2%20Corinthians
