The Jimmy Swaggart
Series Jimmy Swaggart's
Expositor's "Bible": Now
the Spirit speaketh expressly, Speaking
lies in hypocrisy; From
his youth, because of his Pentecostal upbringing, Jimmy Swaggart knew the Truth
about sin and repentance. But
he defied the Truth. He shook
his fist at God and His Laws. And
as he wallowed in willful wickedness, he refused to heed the Holy Spirit’s
call to repentance. So, his
willful wickedness darkened his heart, darkened his mind, and darkened his
soul. And his conscience was seared with a hot iron.
Swaggart defied God’s Law and refused to
repent of his filthy sins of a-whoring after pornography and prostitutes,
greed, lies, deception and other abominations.
And he delighted in his hypocrisy.
He delighted in sitting at the table of the Lord, and sitting at the
table of the devils. And as he sat at the table of the devils, they laughed
and joked and persuaded Swaggart that he could serve God and serve Satan at
the same time: “Jimmy, YOU are a great TV evangelist.
YOU do many good works in Jesus’ name.
YOU deserve pleasure. Besides…no one will find out.
And if you openly expose and rebuke other preacher whoremongers, YOU
will be exalted. Jimmy, YOU can
fool everyone.” So, Jimmy went out and sought the pleasures
of the flesh in secret while openly exposing other preachers who went
a-whoring. And Jimmy’s ministry continued to grow
and grow and grow… But one day in 1988, Jimmy’s disguise of
self-righteousness was ripped off and his hideous hypocrisy was revealed.
This was the great fall of Jimmy Swaggart. And in a desperate attempt to keep his
moneymaking ministerial kingdom of mansions and other lavish living, he
publicly repented. However,
many shook their heads in disgust and departed from following him.
And Jimmy continued to sit at the table of
the devils and harlots. And after he was again caught a-whoring in 1991, he lashed out at his
followers: “The
Lord told me it’s flat none of your business.” Jimmy desperately wanted to rebuild his
ministerial kingdom to its former glory.
But how could he persuade men and women that even though he refused
to truly repent, they should still follow him and lavish him with praise and
money? And Jimmy continued to sit at the table of
the devils. And the devils said
to him: “Jimmy, YOU can sin and be saved at the
same time. The Apostle Paul was
a great apostle and a great sinner after conversion because he did not
understand sanctification. You
must profess faith in the Object of the Cross!” And in his own vain imagination, Jimmy
believed he received a great revelation that he did not have to repent
because of the new knowledge of Faith in the Object of the Cross. And in his own vain imagination, Jimmy
justified his sin and began to write his “Bible” of devilish doctrines
to entice others to partake in deviltry and deceive them into believing that
faith in the Object of the Cross will save and sanctify them. And as the devils watched Jimmy feverishly
writing his new revelation – The Expositor’s Study Bible- they
laughed and laughed and laughed. Sitting
at the Table of the Devils
The
Apostle Paul warns us in his first letter to the Corinthians in 10:21… Ye
cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye
cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils. Jesus
calls us: “Come and dine.” And
devils call us: “Come and
dine.” But
you cannot sit at the table of two masters. You
cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils. You
cannot partake of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils. When
Swaggart sat at the table of evil spirits, they seduced him with doctrines
that tickled his ears. Swaggart
gave heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.
Doctrine
of Devils: Faith
in the OBJECT of the Cross
The
cross is the central doctrine of the Gospel:
“Christ crucified.” Without
the cross, there is no salvation. The
cross speaks of the shedding of blood, “and without shedding of blood is
no remission” (Hebrews 9:22). Paul
preaches the doctrine of the cross in his first letter to the Corinthians: For
the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but
unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 1
Corinthians 1:18 Then
Paul further explains the doctrine of the cross: For
I determined not to know any thing among you, save
Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 1
Corinthians 2:2 The
message of the cross is “Christ crucified.”
But we do not put our faith in the Object of the cross, we put
our faith in Christ crucified on the cross. In other words, the cross is the
symbol of Christ’s sacrifice. The
cross was the altar on which the Sacrificial Lamb of God offered up His life
to atone for our sins. But
Swaggart preaches the doctrine of devils that the power is in the cross, not
in Jesus’ blood. He wickedly
bids us to put our total faith in the Cross instead of in Jesus
Christ. Incidentally, in The
Expositor’s Study Bible, Christ’s words are printed in black and
Swaggart’s comments are printed in red
to give them equal authority with Christ’s words.
Or is he giving his words preeminence over Christ’s words? However,
in this message, Christ’s words are printed in red;
Swaggart’s comments are printed in blue because
they are not authoritative: The Expositor’s Study Bible comments on Matthew 10:38… 38 And he who takes not his cross (total “Faith” in the Cross to the exclusion of everything else), and follows after Me (we can only follow Him by the “Way” of the Cross), is not worthy of Me (not worthy of the blessings afforded by the “victory” of the Cross). Notice
how Swaggart bids us to “put total
‘Faith’ in the Cross to the exclusion of everything else.” Total means whole. So,
if we put our total or whole faith in the cross, there is no
faith left to put in Jesus.
And
Swaggart comments on Luke 9:23… 23 And He said to them all, If any man will come after Me (the criteria for Discipleship), let him deny himself (not asceticism as many think, but rather that one denies one’s own will-power, self-will, strength, and ability, depending totally on Christ), and take up his cross (the benefits of the Cross, looking exclusively to what Jesus did there to meet our every need) daily (this is so important, our looking to the Cross; that we must renew our Faith in what Christ has done for us, even on a daily basis, for Satan will ever try to move us away from the Cross as the Object of our Faith, which always spells disaster), and follow Me (Christ can be followed only by the Believer looking to the Cross, understanding what it accomplished, and by that means alone [Rom. 6:3-5,11,14; 8:1-2,11;1Cor.1:17-18,21,23;2:2;Gal.6:14;Eph.2:13-18;Col.2:14-15]). This
is a doctrine of devils: “for
Satan will ever try to move us away from the Cross as the Object of
our Faith…Christ can be followed only by the Believer looking to the
Cross.” Swaggart makes the cross “the Object of our
Faith.” And he preaches
Christ can be followed only by looking to the cross – not looking
unto Jesus - “Christ crucified.” Our
faith is in Jesus Christ, not the cross as the Object of our faith. But
Swaggart makes the cross an idol of worship.
Idolatry: Worship of the Cross Also,
what cross is Swaggart preaching? Is
he preaching the Christian cross as the Object of our faith or is he
preaching another cross? And
why does he worship the cross? Worship
of the cross is idolatry. For
example, what are the large 6 white symbols or icons on the carpet in the
Baton Rouge Family Worship Center (FWC) auditorium that run down the aisles
to the “stage”? 6 crosses?
(You can clearly see these icons at 56 seconds into the
following video: "A Visual Tour of Family Worship Center & Jimmy
Swaggart Ministries" @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fiOhV79zZWU).
Clearly, it’s not the Christian cross.
Is it an abstract cross? Which
cross? An abstract Cross of
Salem? An abstract papal cross?
An abstract cross of Baphomet? Baphomet
is a pagan god that is worshipped in Freemasonry. And
why isn’t the symbol clearly identifiable?
Or is it a wicked icon that is placed in plain view to mock and
deceive us? Is it a satanic
symbol? A
friend mentioned that when he visited FWC in 1987, these symbols were not
there. Were they installed after Swaggart’s new revelation of the
cross as the Object of our faith? And
even if it were the Christian cross, why would Swaggart purposely desecrate
the cross of Christ by putting it on the ground so people would trample on
it? And
even if it were the Christian cross, why would Swaggart purposely place it
on the ground and run downward, like the inverted satanic cross? The
cross of Christ must always be lifted up.
It must lift our eyes heavenward, not downward to hell. Jesus
says:
And
as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even
so must the Son of man be lifted up; That
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but
have eternal life. John
3:14, 15 Notice,
Jesus does not say that whoever believes in the cross should not perish…He
plainly declares: “That
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal
life.” The
word “believe” means to accept as true or real and to have faith in.
If we truly believe that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior, then we
will trust and obey Him. We will trust in His promises and obey His
commands. And
yet for all the Jimmy Swaggart Ministries talk about the cross, on Frances
and Friends, Donnie Swaggart forbid a caller to wear a cross necklace
calling it idolatry. But this
is not surprising, for the Swaggarts continuously talk in circles.
They use double-talk to create doubt and confusion about what
they’re really preaching and teaching.
Their books and programs are full of babbling contradictions.
And
then there’s Gabriel Swaggart’s youth program, Crossfire.
What does this mean? Does
it mean a cross of fire which is pagan fire-worship? A burning cross seems satanic.
And a burning cross reminds us of the Ku Klux Klan.
Is Gabriel’s Crossfire of Celtic or Druidic origin? All
of this worship of the cross is like Catholic cross worship.
Catholics make frequent signs of the cross. And the cross is looked
upon as having mysterious powers like a magic charm. Cross worship is black
magic from the depths of spiritual darkness. It is from the dark kingdom of
devils. The
worship of the cross goes back to antiquity.
Pagans worshipped the cross long before Jesus was born and crucified. The
worship of the cross is pagan idolatry.
The
worship of the cross is the spirit of anti-Christ.
Cross
worship is a doctrine of devils.
Swaggart
Transforms Himself Into an Angel of Light For
such are false apostles, deceitful workers, And
no marvel; Swaggart alleges the Apostle Paul did not understand sanctification because he did not understand the message of the cross. But in 1997 he received a revelation of the Message of the Cross. Swaggart transforms himself into an angel of light, or an angel of enlightenment. Essentially, Swaggart boasts: “Don’t listen to the Apostle Paul! Listen to me because I have more enlightenment than Paul!” In fact, Swaggart slanders the Apostle Paul’s character and argues that after conversion, Paul was a compulsive sinner! First, let’s look at what Swaggart says about Romans 7:15: “For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.” Swaggart
comments: “Refers
to sin in his life which he doesn’t want to do, and in fact hates, but
finds himself unable to stop; unfortunately, due to the fact of not
understanding the Cross as it refers to sanctification, this is the plight
of most modern Christians.” Jimmy
Swaggart just said that the Apostle Paul was a sinner after conversion
because he did not understand sanctification: “due
to the fact of not understanding the Cross as it refers to
sanctification.” And… 16 If I then do that
which I would not (presents
Paul doing something against his will; he doesn’t want to do it, and is
trying not to do it, whatever it might be, but finds himself doing it
anyway)… Now, Swaggart is pulling the Apostle Paul down to his own low and carnal nature. He slanders Paul by claiming he was sinning against his will, Paul doesn’t want to do it, and is trying not to do it, but finds himself doing it anyway. Swaggart is lying about Paul’s character to justify his own filthy whoring after pornography and prostitutes. Here is what Swaggart wants you to think: If
I then do that which I would not (presents Swaggart as doing something
against his will; he doesn’t want to do it, and is trying not to do it,
whatever it might be, but finds himself doing it anyway)… In essence, Swaggart says… “I don’t have free will to run from lewdness and lasciviousness. Besides, the Apostle Paul was sinning against his will, too!” Then in Romans 7:17, Swaggart writes: 17
Now then it is no more I that do it (this
has been misconstrued by many! It
means, “I may be failing, but it’s not what I want to do”; no true
Christian wants to sin because now the Divine Nature is in his life and it
is supposed to rule, not the sin nature [II Peter 1:4], but
sin (the sin nature) that dwells in me (despite
the fact that some Preachers claim the sin nature is gone from the
Christian, Paul here plainly says that the sin nature is still in the
Christian; however, if our Faith remains constant in the Cross, the
sin nature will be dormant, causing us no problem; otherwise, it will cause
great problems while the sin nature “dwells” in us, it is not to
“rule” in us). So, what is Swaggart
saying now? He just said the
Apostle Paul was struggling with sin. Now
he claims: “Paul here plainly says that the
sin nature is still in the Christian; however, if our Faith remains
constant in the Cross, the sin nature will be dormant, causing us no
problem; otherwise, it will cause great problems while the sin nature
“dwells” in us, it is not to “rule” in us). So, Swaggart is saying that Paul did not understand the Message of the Cross. Paul did not have the victory over the sin in his life because his Faith was not constant in the Cross: “if our Faith remains constant in the Cross, the sin nature will be dormant, causing us no problem.” Swaggart is teaching that instead of Paul placing his faith in Jesus Christ, he should have placed his faith in the cross! This is a doctrine of devils! Clearly, Swaggart is excusing his own wicked sexual perversion by saying he didn’t have the victory over pornography and prostitutes because He should have placed his faith in the Object of the Cross, not Jesus Christ. Again, this is a doctrine of devils! This is a lie from the pit of hell! And… Romans 7:24…. O wretched man that I
am! (Any
Believer who attempts to live for God outside of God’s Prescribed Order,
which is “Jesus Christ and Him Crucified,” will, in fact, live a
wretched and miserable existence. The
life can only be lived in one way, and that way is the Cross.)
Now
he talks about “Jesus Christ and Him
Crucified” and then “life can
only be lived in one way, and that way is the Cross.)” Swaggart claims none of the apostles understood the Gospel, and he has received a revelation and possesses special knowledge the apostles did not know. The
truth is Swaggart is double-hearted. He
is false at heart: deceitful and treacherous.
He speaks of attempting to live by “Jesus
Christ and Him Crucified,” then turns around and proclaims: “The
life can only be lived in one way, and that way is the Cross.) This is double-talk! James 1: 8 warns us: “A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.” Unquestionably, Swaggart is a double-tongued Christian…a hypocrite. He is purposely inconsistent and deceitful in speech. Listen
up: According
to Swaggart, for over 2000 years everyone, including the apostles,
misunderstood the true message of the Gospel. For
over 2000 years, all true ministers misunderstood the message of the Gospel.
For
over 2000 years, all Bible Christians misunderstood the message of the
Gospel. He
alone has received enlightenment - divine revelation - and is the first
person to ever understand the true message of the Gospel; specifically,
sanctification by placing Faith in the Object of the Cross! Alas,
Swaggart’s enlightened doctrine is really a dark doctrine of hell. Take
heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness. Listen
closely: We must be wise as serpents, that we may not be ignorant of
Satan’s wicked devices. Listen
closely: We must be wise as serpents, that we may not be ignorant of
Swaggart’s wicked devices. Jimmy Swaggart is deluded.
He is not an angel of light. He did not receive a divine or special
revelation. Swaggart has been
deceived and ensnared by a satanic delusion.
Swaggart
has been influenced by Satan – seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. Self-Delusion: Arrogance and pride and boasting and all
other self-delusion are of the Devil. And
the desire of Swaggart’s prideful heart is to exalt himself as the
greatest theologian that has ever lived by claiming a great revelation of
the Message of the Cross. Swaggart
used to profess that Finis Dake was the greatest theologian that ever lived
even though Dake confessed and was convicted
of transporting underage girls across state lines for immoral acts!
Years ago, Swaggart stole and used the ideas and writings of theologian Finis Dake as his own. In other words, Swaggart plagiarized Dake's writings and pretended they were his own ideas. And Dake’s heirs sued Swaggart for plagiarizing their father’s material. http://www.rickross.com/reference/tv_preachers/tv_preachers13.html
Apparently,
the current The Expositor’s Study Bible is not the original
one. When was it re-written? After
being sued by Dake’s descendants? After
Swaggart’s new revelation? Clearly,
Swaggart is jealous and bitter about the plagiarism lawsuit and is exalting
himself to the position of a great theologian to usurp Dake.
Consequently, he proclaims that the Apostle Paul [and Finis Dake]
didn’t understand sanctification, and he is the only enlightened
one about this doctrine. Swaggart
presents himself as a theologian – an angel of light. Theologians
pretend that they have great enlightenment about the Scriptures. Simply put,
theology is the “science of religion.”
The word theology comes from a heathen source – from the Greek
classics (god and science). The
definition of “science” is knowledge.
Therefore, theology is the systematic method of study of the
knowledge of God. There is Christian theology, Jewish theology, Muslim
theology, and so forth. The
truth is many “Christian” theologians are agnostics or atheists.
They become theologians and teach in colleges and universities –
including “Christian” schools – to undermine the true Gospel by
creating doubt and confusion in the hearts and minds of students.
This is one of the strategies of the Devil.
Theologians
are puffed up with false knowledge and pretentious words.
They belittle true Bible-believing Christians who believe true
Christians can understand the King James Bible with the guidance of the Holy
Spirit. The 1937 The Book of Knowledge states:
Any set of men with special knowledge are inclined to create
a formal language for themselves that does not readily give up its meaning
to plain people.
It is so with
philosophy, religion, the law, medicine, education and most of all
with science.
There is a pretense that these dignified subjects cannot be
discussed in plain speech, and so a special jargon is invented for each
learned set, and in no instance does the jargon become literature.
This special formal language has to be shed before any piece
of prose can be read with pleasure for its own sake.
How fortunate it was then that, from the first, there was a
book in the language of the people, plain, strong, full, with a natural
music in it, and that book one with an extraordinary variety of expression,
rich in interest, and exhaustless in meaning.
Theology, which is
the “science of religion,” swiftly hid its meaning in a clumsy jargon
from which it has never escaped, but the Bible is clear, simple and beautiful.
And this purity in language and style, drawn from common
English speech, has been influencing sincere writers ever since. Theologians
pretend they have special knowledge, but they are puffed up with false
knowledge. They pretend a
mighty zeal for Jesus and the Bible, and to have authority from them, but
the truth is they are the devil’s disciples masquerading as angels of
light. But
there were false prophets also among the people, Theologians are false teachers. Doesn’t
this sound like Jimmy Swaggart: “who privily shall bring in damnable
heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them”?
Swaggart preaches: “for Satan will ever
try to move us away from the Cross as the Object of our
Faith…Christ can be followed only by the Believer looking to the Cross.” And
doesn’t this sound like Swaggart: “And through covetousness shall they
with feigned words make merchandise of you”?
His Sonlife Broadcasting Network under the pretense of spreading the
Gospel is actually self-promotion: selling Jimmy Swaggart merchandise -
books, CDs, DVDs, and other merchandise. Clearly,
Jesus demonstrated his anger toward merchandisers in the House of the Lord: And
the Jews’ passover was at hand, And
found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves,
Jimmy
Swaggart makes the Father’s house an house of merchandise. And
he uses a Bible-thon to sell his The Expositor’s Study Bible to
promote himself as the greatest theologian that has ever lived because of
his revelation of the Message of the Cross. The
truth is theologians are Gnostics. And
Gnostics believe that they have been given new truths or secret knowledge
about Scriptures because they are the initiated.
Swaggart
preaches a Gnostic gospel.
Swaggart’s
Gnostic Gospel: Doctrines of Devils To repeat, theology is the science of religion. But it is not a true science. In fact, Christian theology was initiated by Gnostic speculation. And Swaggart claims that in 1997 he received a revelation of the Message of the Cross no one, not even the Apostle Paul understood. Swaggart’s new revelation is Gnosticism: doctrines of devils. Briefly,
Gnosticism is a counterfeit Christianity that claims special knowledge or
science through divine revelation. Generally, Gnostics believe new
truths or secret knowledge are communicated only to the initiated
- and they are the initiated. Swaggart
claims that the new truth or secret knowledge of the Message of the Cross
was communicated to him. If
this sounds like Freemasonry, it is because Freemasonry is rooted in
Gnosticism. Gnosticism is an
occult “science.” Paul
warns us: “avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions
of science falsely so called: Which some professing have erred
concerning the faith.” Paul is referring to occult science.
Occult science includes astrology (the so-called science of the
influence of the heavenly bodies on human affairs), psychology (the
so-called science of the phenomena of mind), and other so-called science
that is not true science. It
also includes theology because it’s rooted in Gnosticism.
Swaggart’s
theology (the science of religion by revelation) boasts: “for
Satan will ever try to move us away from the Cross as the Object of
our Faith…” The truth is Satan
will ever try to move us away from “Christ crucified” and toward
worshipping the Cross as the Object of our Faith. Cross
worship is black magic from the depths of spiritual darkness. It is from the
dark kingdom of devils. Cross
worship is a doctrine of devils.
Consequently, The Expositor’s Study Bible is a book of occult teachings: doctrines of devils, including cross worship. Other
Doctrines of Devils Another
doctrine of devils is the Gap Theory. And
Swaggart preaches the Gap Theory as
the doctrine of Creation. Briefly,
Jimmy Swaggart and others advocating the Gap Theory argue that
there was previous life on this earth before God created the earth as
recorded in Genesis 1:2. They
argue that there is a large gap of time between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2.
And it was on this previous earth when the dinosaurs roamed.
Moreover, they argue that the previous earth ended with a war between
the angels of God and the angels of Satan, and God sent a flood that
destroyed the surface of the earth and killed all animals and men. After God
destroyed the first earth He restored it.
This is also known as the Ruin-Restoration Theory. The truth is the Gap Theory is an ancient pagan belief that recurs time and time again. It is modified and adapted to different pagan religions and proposed by man again and again. Ecclesiastes 1:9 declares: “There is no new thing under the sun.”
In short, the Gap Theory comes from pagan religions/occult science teaching the universe is reincarnated or re-created again and again.
The
Gap Theory is a lie. It is
another doctrine of devils. (See
“The Gap Theory is a Lie” @
http://www.libertyadvocate.com/The%20Gap%20Theory%20is%20a%20Lie.htm). And
there are many other false teachings and doctrines of devils in The
Expositor’s Study Bible. But
it would take pages and pages and pages to discuss them all. Purify
Your Hearts and Minds
All
who believe Swaggart’s doctrines of devils must purify their hearts and
minds and homes. If you have
Swaggart’s merchandise…get rid of it! The
converted early Ephesians burned their occult books in a great public
bonfire.
Many
of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and
burned them before all men: and
they counted the price of them, and
found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. So
mightily grew the word of God and
prevailed. Acts
19:19, 20 Notice
that the books were of great value. They
could have sold them or given them away.
But they did not want to spread evil.
Likewise,
Swaggart’s materials contain doctrines of devils!
The Expositor’s Study Bible worships the cross and gives it
magical attributes. And it preaches the Gap Theory as the doctrine of
Creation and many other lies. Therefore, all of his materials must be cast
out of every Christian home! Don’t
give them away! Throw
them away or burn them! Evil
books belong in the fire because they will damn countless lost souls to
hellfire who believe in his doctrines of devils. Some
may cry, “Burn The Expositor’s Study Bible? We must never burn
the Bible.” Swaggart’s
“bible” is not the Holy Bible. It
is an unholy bible. It is a book of doctrines of devils.
It is an occult book. If
you keep these evil books, you may be tempted to look back at them, like
Lot’s wife who looked back at evil Sodom. Get
rid of all of Swaggart’s merchandise!
Then
humbly ask the Lord to purify your heart and mind of Swaggart’s doctrines
of devils. And seek to know the Truth. If
ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; John 8:31, 32
