In Times Like These
In the Midst of Trials and Tribulations
Karen Pansler-Lam, J.D.
No matter what you’re facing today, you can find strength, comfort, courage, peace, and hope; if you call upon the Lord.
In Times Like These . . .
If you are weak, God shall give you strength.
If you are comfortless, God shall give you comfort.
If you are discouraged, God shall give you courage.
If you are afraid, God shall give you peace.
If you are in despair, God shall give you hope.
Whatever your trial or tribulation, call upon the Lord; and let the Holy Spirit pour healing balm on your body, mind, and soul.
Be of good courage,
and he shall strengthen your heart,
all ye that hope in the Lord.
God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
My flesh and my heart faileth:
but God is the strength of my heart,
and my portion for ever.
Seek the Lord, and his strength:
seek his face evermore.
The Lord is my strength and song,
and is become my salvation.
He healeth the broken in heart,
and bindeth up their wounds.
And Jesus went forth,
and saw a great multitude,
and was moved with compassion toward them,
and he healed their sick.
And great multitudes came unto him,
having with them those that were
lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others,
and cast them down at Jesus’ feet;
and he healed them:
Insomuch that the multitude wondered,
when they saw the dumb to speak,
the maimed to be whole,
the lame to walk,
and the blind to see:
and they glorified the God of Israel.
Matthew 15:30, 31
And there arose a great storm of wind,
and the waves beat into the ship,
so that it was now full.
And he was in the hinder part of the ship,
asleep on a pillow:
and they awake him, and say unto him,
Master, carest thou not that we perish?
And he arose,
and rebuked the wind,
and said unto the sea,
Peace, be still.
And the wind ceased,
and there was a great calm.
And he said unto them,
Why are ye so fearful?
how is it that ye have no faith?
Jesus said unto him,
If thou canst believe,
all things are possible to him that believeth.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor;
he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted,
to preach deliverance to the captives,
and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty them that are bruised.
I will not leave you comfortless:
I will come to you.
And it came to pass,
that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux:
to whom Paul entered in,
and laid his hands on him,
and healed him.
So when this was done, others also,
which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed.
Acts 28:8, 9
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities:
for we know not what we should pray for as we ought:
but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us
with groanings which cannot be uttered.
And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what
is the mind of the Spirit,
because he maketh intercession for the saints
according to the will of God.
And we know that all things work together for good
to them that love God,
to them who are the called according to his purpose.
And God hath set some in the church,
after that miracles,
then gifts of healings,
diversities of tongues.
I Corinthians 12:28
And he said unto me,
My grace is sufficient for thee:
for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
II Corinthians 12:9
But my God shall supply all your need
according to his riches in glory
by Christ Jesus.
